I am getting a message saying that (Display driver has stopped responding and has fully recovered). I have done all of my updates. I get this message when I play the game World of Warcraft. My screen also goes black for a couple of seconds then comes back. I have also updated my directX. When I minimize the game sometimes when I click on it to bring it back up, the game doesn't show, I just get a blank screen. I have also updated my SP1.
Which isn't the problem because I have talked to someone about on Microsoft already and they told me that it isnt the problem. The game also frezzes sometimes and I have to manually shut it down becasue I cant minimize the game. Every time i try to open up windows movie maker or try to change my screen saver to any new windows vista screen savers, a window appears and says i need some type of video card, then i go to control panel and device/sound then i see that my mobile intel 945 chipset family, the same that this guy says he has a problem with, has a yellow triangle thing. I don't know much about computers.but i have updated this thing a million times and idk why it's not working.what do i do?you helped this dude, hopefully you can help me.thank you. I have a Compaq Presario CQ40 laptop and my graphics driver is Generic PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. My OS is Vista Starter that came free with the laptop (Vista Starter is ok for me since I only do basic computing, even if it only allows a max of 3 programs to run at the same time.) I am happy with everything, all was working fine then suddenly my screen went on default VGA. I tried accessing the Intel Graphics Properties menu and it is not accessible. I went to the Display Properties in Control Panel and I got the message that my graphics driver was meant for an earlier version of Windows.
(Sorry I was not able to copy the entire error message). My windows automatic updates are off, so it can't be possible that my driver software or my OS got changed or anything.

Also, I didn't install any new program. There are no viruses or any sort of malware because I have Avira AntiVir program in my computer. I am the administrator of this laptop and no one else uses this, there are no guest accounts whatsoever. I do not play graphic-intensive games because I am aware that this is not a gaming laptop. The games I only play with this are the ones in Facebook. I use this mostly for checking emails, basic work related stuff.

I went to Device Manager, and tried to update my graphics driver but it said I have the latest version of the driver. Why did this happen? It was working just fine then somehow Vista forgot to work with my graphics driver.
